Colorado is home to NIST's Boulder Laboratories and JILA, their quantum collaboration with the University of Colorado, where fundamental research underpinning quantum computing happens.
A strong research community has led to innovation and entrepreneurship. Colorado is home to major quantum computer makers Quantinuum, Cold Quanta, and Atom. Aditioanlly, these and other companies are creating software products to make quantum computers more user-friendly.
Research and Development of Quantum Computing means nothing without commercial benefit. Current quantum devices are quite limited in their capabilities. Early-stage applications are becoming available and government customers are driving its usage.
Now is a good time for commercial companies to start looking into quantum computing. Colorado has a number of phamasutical, material, financial, and other computationally heavy industries that stand to benifit from this new technology.
